Summary: Situated just 4 km outside Cambridge is the only World War II American cemetery in England. Cambridge American Cemetery is the final resting place for 3812 servicemen, another 5126 missing in action or unknowns have their names recorded on a long wall, the tablets of the missing. It strikes you instantly how meticulously well kept the grounds are. The land on which the cemetery is located was donated by the University of Cambridge so that the fallen shall rest here for evermore.
