Summary: Erected in the autumn of 1945 using materials taken from the Reich Chancellery. In honour of the 80.000 Russian soldiers who fell taking Berlin, several thousands of which died storming the chancellery alone. Located in Tiergarten, one of Berlins great parks, close to the Brandenburger Gate. Behind the memorial is a garden with a small exhibition about this site.
