Country & City: Sweden, Linköping.
Date of visit: 2009/02/21
Summary: The Swedish Air Force Museum present the complete history of Swedish air power. There are very few gaps in the collection regarding types used in Swedish service, and when so, it's often a foreign design used in single or few numbers. About 50 aircraft are on display in the main building with additional examples under open skies. Rarities include Junkers Ju 86, Macchi M7 flying boat and SAAB J29 in UN-markings to name a few. The cafeteria is placed on a loft with good overview of hall 2 so make your way up there.
Rating: Located about 200 km SW of Stockholm and well worth a visit, the collection is in perfect condition. Be aware though of the fact that the museum share it's back fence with a Swedish Air Force base so don't get to exited camera in hand, or it may cost you!
