Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum
Summary: A well worth visit when in New York. Aircraft carrier USS Intrepid is a great museum and a big floating one:) Visitors are allowed to hangar, hangar deck and to the tower where you will find navigation, Captain chair and radar room. Hangar deck offer many different aircrafts among theme a Grumman F-14 Tomcat, A-12 Blackbird and Russian MIG-15. If you are up on hangar deck you may want to take "the big elevator" down to the hangar, three times a day they let visitor ride with the aircraft elevator. In hangar, there you will find restroom, but also some aircraft, educational center, flight simulator (it's moves around and upside down), History of Intrepid and many other thing and intresting object to look at. There is also a Submarine (USS Growler SSG-557) and a Concorde, you are allowed to entering them both.
Rating: Lots of aircraft on deck, but only some few in the hangar. Friendly and help full staff. I did not entering the Sub because there where a line of many other people who also wanted to make a visit. But next time in New York, I will. Worth visiting while in New York, but not worth the trip for only visiting Intrepid.
