Country & City: Germany, Finowfurt.
Date of visit: 2008/08/09
Summary: Some 40 km north of Berlin a large collection of former DDR Air Force equipment has been assembled at an airbase used during the cold war. The museum is in constant state of renovation, which makes it so interesting. Almost every item is on show so you can see soviet MiGs without wings awaiting assembly, complete aircraft in shelters and lots of soviet made vehicles & other airfield equipment. There is also a hangar with ww II plane wrecks in dioramas just as they were found. Another hangar hold complete Klimov instructional jet engines to be checked out.
Rating: Soviet made fighters, helicopters, transports and much more make it a well worth visit if in northern Germany. All presented at an original airbase with working runways makes it even better.
